Ode to a Tree-StumpSomeone changed me from an ordinary tree stump
to a beautiful piece of art.
My roots remained firmly planted in the soil
and my trunk was beautifully sculpted.
Lines were chiseled into me
where a beautiful face emerged
that was sanded so smooth
and a gloss was applied so I would forever shine.
The pieces in this Gallery were all commissioned, requested for a specific individual or special occasion. Many of them are personal and have not been reproduced. Some of them were powerful enough and universal in the message that you may have seen them as a card or print as they have been made available to the public.
If you have someone in mind, or an occasion or event you would like to capture in Stripy Arms style, I would love the opportunity to create a piece for you. I prefer to know limited information about the subject or individual. I trust my intuition and my instincts and my artistic muse to lead me as I create. Commissioned pieces are priced the same as original artwork and typically run from $230 to $400, in sizes 8”x10” to 16”x20”. All work is in acrylics, painted on a wood cradle and finished in a black floater frame, ready to hang. I can also create one of a kind pieces on wooden boxes, vintage books or paper.
